Quick Tip – Viewing PDF files in SharePoint


You can use the following method to display PDF files within a SharePoint page.

Ultimately this method uses the ’embed’ HTML tag

You’ll need to add a Content Editor Webpart to the page

Edit the Source for the webpart: (via the Source editor button)

And place the following code within it:

http://PDFFilelocation

The PDF file location can be a UNC or http resource.

Before checking the page make sure you have the PDF add-on installed.

Update to this post – seems to be no luck with the above mentioned (comment if you got it to work)

The second approach would be if you had the PDF file hosted at a web URL location and use a page viewer webpart to carry out it loading inside the SP page:

By using further URL parameters you’re then able to remove the Adobe tool bar:

http://pdfserver/pdf_file.pdf#toolbar=0&navpanes=0&scrollbar=0
