SharePoint 2010 on Virtual Box is SLOW A$ HELL….Why?

I recently created a new SharePoint 2010 VM environment within Virtual Box , but it’s so slow as hell.

My machine is a new Lenovo W510 8 processor machine with 8GB RAM

The environment consists of the following settings:

Windows Server 2008 64 Bit

MOSS 2010 64 Bit

SQL enterprise 64 Bit

Exchange Server 2010 (Don’t ask) 64Bit

And I don’t seem to be able to speed it up no matter what I try.

The next step is to follow a colleagues advice which is installing 2008 on my base machine and running the VM with Hyper V.

Recently found the following article (Excellent breakdown) http://www.sharepointjoel.com/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?List=0cd1a63d%2D183c%2D4fc2%2D8320%2Dba5369008acb&ID=298

but I still haven’t found anything to fix the speed of the machine 😦
