SharePoint 2010 Error creating site: "The site template requires that the Feature {a392da98-270b-4e85-9769-04c0fde267aa} be activated in the site collection."


If you receive the following error

There are 2 ways of resolving the issue:

The first one would be to identify which Feature needs to be enabled on the new host site (which didn’t work for me, as I couldn’t find the correlation guide related to the mentioned error)

Which you can use Stian Kirkbergs list who has done an excellent job of listing which ID’s are related to which GUID, which can be found here:

The second solution would be to deactivate the features before you create the site template

Which is the solution that did work for me was going and deactivating the features on the site I was creating a site template, and then re-enabling the features I needed once I successfully deployed it
